You can reach me via the email address provided on the Contact page. If you are interested in thesis supervision, please briefly describe your initial topic or area of interest and indicate your preferred timeframe for starting the thesis.

What kind of thesis topics do you supervise?

I supervise Bachelor’s and Master’s theses related to accounting, controlling, digital transformation, business analytics, data management, sustainability and green controlling, ERP/SAP, artificial intelligence in business, and related areas of international business.

Interdisciplinary topics that connect business, technology and data are particularly welcome.

What are your areas of research and interest?

My academic interests focus on accounting, controlling, business analytics and digital transformation in an international business context, with a strong emphasis on practical applications and the use of digital technologies in finance and controlling.

As a general orientation:

Bachelor’s thesis: approximately 35 pages (±5 pages), with submission within 6 weeks after registration.

Master’s thesis: approximately 80 pages (±5 pages), with submission within one semester after registration.

Can you help me choose a research methodology?

How does the thesis supervision process work?

Please send me your supervision request by email together with your initial topic or research idea. I will let you know about my availability and whether the topic fits my supervision areas.

Once we agree to proceed, we will typically have one or two initial meetings to refine the topic, research question, methodology and overall approach. During the thesis period, further meetings can be arranged when needed. You are also welcome to send specific questions by email.

Do I need to have a final thesis topic before contacting you?

No. An initial idea or area of interest is sufficient. We can discuss the feasibility and scope of your idea and work towards a focused research question and final thesis title during the initial supervision process.

You are also welcome to contact me if you have several ideas and are unsure which one would be most suitable.

What are the length and submission requirements?

Yes. We can discuss which methodology is appropriate for your research question, for example qualitative or quantitative research, case studies, interviews, surveys, literature-based research or data analysis.

The final methodological choices and their academic justification remain part of your own thesis work.

Can I write my thesis in cooperation with a company?

Yes. Company-based theses are welcome, provided that the topic also meets the academic requirements of a Bachelor’s or Master’s thesis.

Do I need to find a second supervisor?

If you are not writing your thesis in cooperation with a company, I can normally arrange a second supervisor internally within the department.

For company-based theses, we can discuss the appropriate second-supervision arrangement depending on the individual case and applicable university requirements.

How often will we meet during the thesis?

The number of meetings depends on the individual thesis and the support required. Typically, we start with one or two meetings to establish the topic, research question and methodology, followed by additional meetings at important stages of the thesis.

Students are expected to prepare specific questions or topics for discussion before each meeting.

How is my thesis graded?

After submission, the thesis is assessed by the first and second supervisors/examiners in accordance with the applicable examination regulations. The final result is communicated through the official examination process.

Will you review my thesis before submission?

I am happy to provide feedback on specific questions, selected aspects of your research approach, structure, methodology or argumentation during the supervision process.

However, supervision does not include proofreading or pre-grading the complete thesis before submission. The final thesis remains the student's independent academic work.
